They also do a circuit of Courmayeur (as far up as La Palud) every half hour. There's a direct service between Courmayeur and La Thuile, 3 times in the morning and 3 late afternoon.

We traveled to Aosta Valley in May a few years ago and returned last summer, when we hiked the Tour du Mont Blanc.

Lots of good shops, restaurants and bars, and a good après-ski scene. Access to the world's longest lift-served run, the Vallée Blanche. Best for intermediate skiers, and good off-piste and heliskiing available.
